School Resource Officers
The Banks County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers are certified deputies that are assigned to the Banks County School System. The School Resource Officer’s (SRO’s) are responsible for law enforcement related issues, class room instruction, drug abuse resistance education (D.A.R.E.), and student counseling. Each SRO works closely with the school’s administration and provides a number of valuable resources for the school staff, students, parents, and community. Often, students confide in the SRO about topics and situations they might not want to discuss with others and are encouraged to do so. Our SRO’s are a trusted part in the everyday school environment and develop long-term friendships with many of the faculty members and students.
