Jail Division

The purpose of the jail is to provide a safe and secure environment for those who have been arrested or sentenced by the courts. All inmates are housed according to an objective classification system and are issued a handbook explaining the rules of the Jail. The current Banks County Jail is a modern facility built to house 60 inmates. It was designed to be easily expanded to meet the growth of the County in the future. The building’s design allows for individual pods to be added as needed without having to close down the facility or breach security of the existing pods. The Jail is manned 24 hours a day by a shift of trained and state certified Jailers. In addition to the detention pods the building houses modern administrative offices for the Sheriff, Chief Deputy, Uniform Patrol Division, and Investigators. The Jail staff includes the Jail Captain, one Lieutenant, four shift Sergeants, two TACs, and fifteen Jailers.
